with my current work from my graphics course at university
i will be uploading images from class regularly that showcase my work and others in the class when we have exhibitions so please enjoy.
the first project were given was to do a series of quick drawings to describe or self's to a set of questions and be as visual and colourful as we could
second project we had to do was a music video which i am unable to link currently as the video has been corrupted and needs re uploading to you tube which i will do over the Christmas holiday
the next project i had to do was get to know a stranger in the class and learn about them and create a logo that depicts them accurately now I'm pretty bad with names to be honest so i have forgotten his name but he was a chilled cool kinda guy ready to help a friend and everyone seemed to love him for good reason because he was really kewl to talk to so i decided to do an ice cream thumbs up but this idea had many changes and here is the transformation
the top one was the very first draft i loved it but i felt and so did the tutors the hand was lost in all the madness... so i tried a different approach
the second draft is a edit of the final which i wasn't so sure of i loved the colours and how it looked very pop art and vintage but didn't really describe the guy as well
so on the final choice which is the below image i felt a chocolate magnum shape ice cream would suit better as the person i interviewed was black it seemed like a fair choice to go with brown and plus the obvious joke of magnum...
next project i had to redesign the British pound coin but to encompass to days economic climate globally i already had a fair understanding of the economic climate of today so i went into this design fairly confident we were competing int his one as we had all put a £1 into a pot for a over all winner to take and in a class of 50 it was a good sum to win... i didn't win but i did put a shit ton of effort into mine and i think i lacked thinking outside the box and so i feel that this design may not have been the winner but i definitely feel it attained to the brief.
the 4th project i have to be honest i missed the initial day to be in a group and had tried to get the work done in my own time and had a fantastic idea but sadly it was too little too late and i currently don't have a piece to add on here regarding that project so moving onto the 5th project which i don't have on my laptop but will add soon enough is my C4 idea for tv and i feel it was original and in short its a story of a child around new years eve finding out his parents are having a separation he runs away into the big city on one of the scariest and wildest nights of the year and See's things he has never seen before and tries to get home only to almost get run over and found by his parents driving looking for him its a really heart warming in depth short story and i feel with more writing practise on my part it would make for a very good story even if it isn't picked.
and now the latest project A0 Kimono where we had to design a clear visual design for a Japanese kimono and we had to fill 3 pages with designs i draw fast so i did 4 and the tutors Ed and Dan would look at them and pick the strongest design for us me being a wise ass after 3 and a half pages of what i felt where cool ideas felt silly and figured "ill draw a giant vagina!" to my surprise this was chosen and below are the images and captions explaining the story... enjoy.
first sheet is a wookie, captain spaulding from house of a thousand corpses a rob zombie horror film, next is my famils old irish whisky plaque (badly drawn and the whisky is before my imiate family's time) a skull and snake and roses (tattoo design obviously)
next is a pair of fu dogs in paintstrokes style then a koi fish same style
then aliens mouth and a lasagne...
first is the room of stairs then a baby monkye riding backwards on a pig... baby monkey
my iphone complete with wall paper and case a indians head and tomohawk an octopus a campus a skate board and a gameboy...
an icecream a tattoo style wolf a random eye another disgusting idea and we have a glory hole then a ikimono by apple a chocolate bar (got stolen i am joking ofcourse...) bart simpson badly drawn and a al pachinoesk shot out kimono the pink tabs indicated strong ideas and i lost the tap for the final but youl see that soon...
